HONOURS IN THE AIR
AWARDED TO JEAN BATTEN United Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 29, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 28. Jean Batten has been awarded the Royal Aero Club’s Britannia Trophy fcr the best flight of 1936 in recognition of her flight to New Zealand. Miss Batten also won the trophy in 1935. RECIPIENT OF SEAGRAVE TROPHY MORE HONOURS FOR JEAN BATTEN United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph - -Copyrigh t LONDON, January 31 The Seagrave Trophy for the most outstanding demonstration of the possibilities of transport on land, air or water in 1936, has been awarded to Miss Jean Batten for her New Zealand flight. The trophy was awarded in 1930 to Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, in 1934 to Mr Bert Hinkler, in 1932 to Mrs Amy Mollison, and in 1934 to Mr Kenneth Waller.
