Mr and Mrs A. Chapman, Kurow, are staying at the Dominion.
Miss Marjorie Greenfield will leave to-day for her home in Dunedin. Dr and Mrs H. S. Smith, Los Angeles, are guests at the Grand. Mrs R. Heron and children, Rathmore Street, have returned from Wellington. Miss Jean Ramsay and Miss Edna Pringle are the guests of Miss Dorothy White, Fairlie.
Miss J. Morgan, who is the guest of Mrs H. F. Morton, Beverley Road, will return to-morrow to Ashburton. Mrs J. Goldie and Miss Elsie Goldie, Seddon Street, will leave to-day for their new home in Christchurch. Mrs P. Pitcaithly, Lyttelton will arrive to-day to stay with her daughter, Mrs Bruce Baxter, Evans Street.
Miss Forsyth, •'Dunedin who has recently returned from England, is the guest of Miss Aimers, Bidwill Street. Miss Evelyn Fraser, Maltby Avenue, has returned from a visit to the North Island.
Miss Bishop (Oamaru), Miss V. N. Fox and Mr F. Kidd (Gore) are guests at the Balmoral.
Mrs James Kingsland and Mrs Andrew Wilson, Invercargill, and Mr and Mrs H. L. Bowker, Christchurch, are staying at the Grand. Miss Olive Barron and Miss Joan Inglis, Wellington, who are staying with Mrs W. Burns, at Peel Forest, will return north to-day.
Miss Mainie Inglis, Wai-iti Road, who has been on a visit to Dunedin, returned home yesterday. Miss Freda Bett, Hamilton, Is her guest. Mrs T. W. Satterthwaite, Elizabeth Street, left yesterday for Christchurch to say good-bye to her daughter, Mrs Clive Crozier, who leaves on Monday for a trip to Australia.
Lady Young, who is staying with Mrs R. H. Rhodes, “Carne,” Sealy Street, will leave on Monday to stay with Mrs J. C. Miller, Woodbury, before returning to England.
The staffs of the Majestic Theatre and Theatre Royal gathered last night to make a presentation to Miss Natalie Shaw, who for the last four years has been cashier at the Majestic and who is shortly to be married. The presentation, a dinner service, was made by the manager, Mr H. J. Kennedy, who said that Miss Shaw would leave the Majestic with the best* wishes of all for her future happiness.
A very enjoyable evening was recently spent at Lyalldale when Mr and Mrs H. P. Moyle invited a number of young people to a party at their residence in honour of the twenty-first birthday of their son Edward. The evening was spent in dancing and competitions. Items were given by Miss Delury. The supper room was tastefully decorated with greenery, streamers and coloured lanterns. In proposing the toast of Mr Edward Moyle, Mr Alan Bishop thanked Mr and Mrs Moyle on behalf of those present for the opportunity to show the esteem in which their son was held and wished him every success in the future. Mrs Moyle then presented his son with the customary golden key. Those present included Mr and Mrs H. P. Moyle, Mr and Mrs J. Henderson, Misses Moyle, Wilkie, Thompson, Bennett, Davidson, Pye, Kinross (2), Toohey (2), Delury; Messrs Moyle (2), Tozer, Craig, Cox, Daly, Thompson (2), Bennett, Toohey, Preston, Kinross (2), Bishop (2), Pye (3), Anderson.
