Boat Race Optimists

Incurable Boat Race optimists have started. Oxford hopes are already high because there are six Etonians in the Oxford trial eights. A writer on one of the lower reaches of the Thames, commenting on this, said: The truth is that Oxford will never win again unless they introduce a few Narkovlans. A Year’s Cycling O. Nicholson, the Victorian, whose world’s one-year endurance cycling road record of 43,9963 miles was beaten this year by W. W. Greaves, the onearmed English cyclist, has started on an attempt to regain the record. He will endeavour to ride more than 130 miles every day this year. In his attempt he will make several inter-State tours. Greaves covered 45,3835 miles, despite the fact that he lost two weeks through sickness.
