The Dominion’s Pig Industry
The recent trend in the pig industry is indicated y the following figures:— In 1932, 131,000 cwt. of pig products were exported; in the nine months ended September of 1936, 479,000 cwt. were exported, this being exclusive of a small quantity of bacon and hams. It has been estimated authoritatively that 1,450,000 cwt. could be produced from the by-products of our present production of butter and cheese, and other feeds are available and could be made available in greatly Increased quantities for economic use.
