An illustration of the lack of knowledge of New Zealand was given to an “Evening Post” reporter the other day by a visitor from Northern Ireland. “When my wife heard I was staying for nearly six weeks in New Zealand she wrote and stated that as New Zealand was not really much bigger than Ulster she thought that I could easily walk all over it in 10 days,” he said. “You see,” added the visitor, “'this is a young country, not thickly populated, and you regard 100 miles here as we regard a 10-mile trip at Home. George Burns and Gracie Allen took time out after completing “The Big Broadcast of 1937” to purchase a home and an automobile. In the past they have lived in hotels and apartment houses and have used taxicabs as a means of transportation.
