FLOCK HOUSE
GOVERNMENT TAKES CONTROL FREE FARM TRAINING FOR BOYS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, December 25. The Minister of Agriculture (Hon. W. Lee Martin) announces that final arrangements have been made between the Government and Flock House Trustees for the property and farm training establishment at Flock House to be taken over by the Department of Agriculture from February 1 next. Until February the Flock House establishment will be carried on under the present control of the Trustees of the Seamen’s Fund and no time should be lost by parents of boys leaving school this term who desire a farming career to enrol their boys as trainees at Flock House. Training and maintenance at Flock House will now be free to all boys who comply with the requirements of medical fitness, personal character and desire for a farming career. In the meantime the number in training will be limited so that early application should be made to the Flock House office at Palmerston North.
