A woman who recently bought a secretaire at an auction sale for £7/10/- discovered in a secret drawer uncut diamonds valued at £3OOO. The drawer was found while the woman was polishing the secretaire. The stones were wrapped in curious looking wool. It has been found that the wool was a type which is not grown in Australia, and that it is at least 200 years old. The stones have been sold for £3OOO. It is thought they had been hidden in the drawer for many years, during which time the desk changed hands several times.
