UNIVERSITY APPOINTMENT By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, December 21. The Victoria University College Council has appointed Mr I. A. Gordon Professor of English Language and Literature. Mr Gordon, who is 29, was a brilliant student at Edinburgh University, winning numerous medals, prizes and scholarships. He passed his M.A. degree with first-class honours in English Literature and credit in English Language. Since graduating he has acted as assistant lecturer to Professor Sir H. J. C. Grierson. ’le has also been lecturer in England at Heriot Watt College, Edinburgh, and lecturer to W.E.A. classes.
