TRANSPORT ’PLANE CRASHES
PILOT AND HIS PASSENGERS ESCAPE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 21, 12.18 am.) NEW YORK, December 20. Lost in a storm of rain and snow, a transport plane with 11 persons aboard was forced to land on a mountainside. The pilot, Dick Merrill, who was co-pilot in a flight across the Atlantic in September landed with such skill that no passengers were injured. He was scratched and lost a tooth.
