BIG DEFICIT ANTICIPATED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, December 18. The Chamber of Deputies passed the Budget, providing for a deficit of £45,000,000. The Minister of Finance (M. Auriol) explained that fully 60 per cent of the Budget was allocated to the public debt and national defence. It was impossible to increase taxation. M. Paul R-eynaud declared that investors had the right to be nervous. How could the Government possibly meet a deficit when prices were rising and unemployment increasing? The Government retored that the revival of French trade was a reality, in spite of the fact that the effects of devaluation were not fully felt.
