WOMEN’S DIVISION

CANNINGTON BRANCH There was a smaller attendance than usual at the November meeting of the Cannington Women's Division at whicn Mrs Squire presided. Motions of sympathy were passed to Mrs McMaster and Mrs Campbell who had suffered bereavement. Members were reminded of the picnic to take place at Rapsey’s Bush on December 5. The treasurer read the report which showed a very satisfactory balance. A sales table in aid of the health camp was very successful. Mrs A. McKenzie and Miss Macdonald of Fairlie demonstrated the making of Christmas gifts, displaying some beautiful work. A vote of than&s proposed by Miss Amyes was carried by acclamation. Mrs Goulter also of Fairlie gave a very interesting talk on early Division days in Havelock South, for which a vote of thanks was accorded her. The hostesses were Mrs Blackmore and Mrs Squire. Miss M. Scott was the winner of the hostesses competition. Mrs Saunders being second. Competitions resulted.— Rhubarb: Mrs Blackmore 1, Mrs Squire 2. Lettuce: Miss Scott 1, Mrs Scott 2. Premier bloom: Miss Mai Scott.
