TINTED EYELIDS
“THE LANCET” ISSUES WARNING United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 27, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 26. Warning women of the danger of tinting their eyelids, an article in “The Lancet” states that as long as this shading is done by substances with a carbon base, It is relatively harmless, but fashion demands frequent changes of colour and new methods. The production of fine chemicals has resulted in a whole series of colours. This was mischief born. Undoubtedly’ there was the possibility of an inflammatory response to the more commonly used pigments. Nothing the chemist can adduce will entirely obviate the rash, if aniline dyes, no matter how t!i"v are treated or modrated, continue to be employed in their manufacture.
