In the afternoon the sun broke through and shone for a few hours. In the evening the sky was clouded. There was a light southerly blowing. Records at Timaru Park yesterday were:— Barometer —29.32. Max. temp.—66 degrees. Min. temp, on grass—37. Wind—S.S.E.2. Rainfall —Nil. Rainfall to date this year—27.22in. Rainfall to date last year—lB.s7in. Sunshine—2.4 hours. Sunshine to date this year—l36o.6hrs. IN OTHER CENTRES Christchurch: The weather yesterday was fine but cloudy. The maximum temperature was 60.9 degrees. The barometer, after falling, had risen to 29.60 inches at 9 p.m. Ashburton: Mild conditions, with an overcast sky, were experienced yesterday. The wind blew lightly from the north-east. The rainfall on Wednesday at the Domain weather station, was 36 points, making a total of 177 points for two days. Geraldine: Air temperatures, minimum 41, maximum 61, at 9 a.m. 54., Rainfall, 10 points. Fine in morning, dull and overcast later. Temuka: Fine but overcast weather was experienced yesterday. The maximum temperature was 67 degrees and the minimum 35. Last evening the glass was steady. Waimate (for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday): Thermometer, highest 59.4, lowest 42.2; rain, 0.32 inches; bright sunshine 24 minutes; wind I gauge, miles run in the last 24 hours. 148. Yesterday morning was dull, but in the late afternoon the sky brightened.
