INCREASE IN RETAIL SALES British Official Wireless (Received November 26, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, November 25 “The Board of Trade Journal” states the money value of the retail sales reported in October was 7.4 per cent, above that of October 1935. Sales expanded in all districts. The total sales in the nine months from February to October in 1936 were 6.3 per cent, greater than the corresponding period in 1935. The advance continued to be most noticeable in the south of England and in suburban London.
