THE SOUTH CANTERBURY HOSPITAL BOARD DEBENTURE ISSUE OF £65,000. p'OR the purpose of proceeding with the erection of a new Surgical Block and other Hospital buildings the South Canterbury Hospital Board is issuing a loan of £65,000 and has for immediate sale bearer debentures in denominations of £lOO each. Interest will be paid half-yearly at the rate of £3 10s per centum per annum. The term of the loan is 20 years and a Sinking Fund of 31 per eent. will be invested for the purpose of providing a cash fund to redeem the debentures in full at maturity. The payment of both interest and sinking fund is secured on the annual revenue of the Board which is derived mostly from Local Governing Bodies and Government subsidies. The nature of the security and the provisions for repayment make this loan an attractive investment in gilt edged securities, and at the same time investors will be assisting the Board to provide much needed modern hospital facilities for the people of South Canterbury.
