MEETING OF SUB-CENTRE At the weekly meeting of the South Canterbury Sub-Centre the programme for the Pleasant Point Amateur Athletic Club’s sports on December 3 was approved. Mr E. C. J. Foot reported that arrangements for the farewell dinner to Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., were well in hand.
The programme for the scratch meeting at the Caledonian Grounds to-morrow was discussed, and the following approved:— Men’s events—22o yards, 880 yards, three miles, high jump, broad jump, discus, javelin, one mile relay comprising 880 yards, 440 yards and 220 yards.
Women's events —100 yards, high jump, broad jump, relay 4, 110 yards.
The following officials were appointed:—Supervisor, Mr E. D. Mcßae; referee, Mr A. Jackson; timekeepers, Messrs J. Fraser and F. Dephoff; starter, Mr M. Leadbetter; judges. Rev. Father J. Seymour, S.M., Brother Marcellin, Messrs J. A. Norrie, C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., A. M. Kilgour, and E. C. J. Foot; track stewards, Messrs C. W. Cameron, N. Phillip, A. M. Fyfe and L. J. Collins; field events, Messrs C. N. Hamilton, J. Smithers, A. B. Rowlands, R. Oliphant, J. Shea and J. M. A. Ritchie; grading committee, Messrs F. King, G. Geddes and J. Mulvey.
