AWARD SOUGHT

MANUFACTURERS’ CLERKS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 25. The dispute between the clerical workers of Wellington and the manufacturers was heard in the Arbitration Court this morning, and decision was reserved. One of the chief points is that the employers claim that this section of clerks should come under the Factories Act. It is also claimed that the general level of ability required in a commercial office was much higher than the level requqired in a manufacturer’s office, and consequently the manufacturer should not be required to pay the same wages.
