PORT OF TIMARU

LATEST ADVICES The Waipiata arrived from Dunedin yesterday morning to load for Plcton, Wellington and Auckland, and sailed last night for Lyttelton. The Holmlea called from the south yesterday, and after loading for Wellington and Waikato, departed via Lyttelton. The Storm, which arrived on Monday night, loaded for Wellington and Wanganui, and was despatched for Lyttelton. ARRIVALS October 13 Waipiata, s.s, 2826 tons (Whitefield) from Dunedin. (Union S.S. Co.) Holmlea, s.s., 555 tons (Kanerva) from Oamaru. (H. J. R. Somerville and Co., agents.) DEPARTURES October 13 Waipiata, s.s., for Lyttelton. Holmlea, s.s., for Lyttelton. Storm, s.s., 749 tons (Williams) for Lyttelton. (D. C. Turnbull and Co, agents.) The following list of steamers’ movements is compiled in accordance with advices supplied by agents for the different Lines:

NOTES The Wainui is due from Oamaru to-day to load for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne. She should get away this evening for Lyttelton. The Holmglen should be here from the south to-day. She is to load for Wellington and New Plymouth, and will sail to-night via Lyttelton. The Kaimai is due from Dunedin on Thursday to discharge coal, after which she is to proceed to Lyttelton and Westport. The Paua is due to arrive from Wellington on Friday. Breeze in Dock The Canterbury Company’s coastal motor vessel Breeze is at present in dock at Port Chalmers for overhaul, but is expected to recommission on Friday at Dunedin. She is due here on Saturday to load for Wellington and Wanganui. Wairangi Later Tire National Mortgage and Agency Co. advise that the Wairangi will not arrive until Saturcy j morning from Bluff. She is to load for London and West Coast ports at Timaru. Wairnana From London The Shaw, Savill Company advises that the Wairnana is to leave London on November 26 with cargo for Wellington and Auckland. The liner Tainui, which is also to leave London on November 26 and Southampton the following day for Wellington, will bring passengers only. Surrey Clears Colon The New Zealand Shipping Company has received cabled advice that the Surrey cleared Colon last Thursday. She left Auckland on September 14 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal. Port Darwin at London Cabled advice has been received that the Port Line steamer Port Darwin reached London on Saturday. She left Bluff on August 29 for London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo. James Cook at Dunedin From Newcastle the intercolonial steamer James Cook reached Dunedin on Sunday. She will later complete discharge at Lyttelton, thence to Greymouth to load for Sydney. Sailed—Pakura (5 p.m.) for Napier; Kapiti (5.20 p.m.) for Wanganui; Wingatui (5.25 p.m.) for Lyttelton; Makura (6.10 p.m.) for Sydney; Gale (6.35 p.m.) for Wanganui; Maori (7.50 p.m.) for Lyttelton. LYTTELTON, October 13. Arrived.—Rangatira (6.40 a.m.) and Eclipse (11.40 a.m.) from Wellington. Sailed.—Rotorua (4.20 p.m.) for Port Chalmers; Rangatira (8.20 p.m.) for Wellington.
