The concluding sessions* of the Country Girls’ Educational Wry-k were thoroughly enjoyed.

On Thursday afternoon, flowers loomed in profusion, Mrs Sullherland showed “how to pack flowprs for travel,” Mrs Wigley bowls for exhibition,” while Mrs L. Sk Talbot gave a talk on “seed raising,” taaid the care of flowers generally. .A, large number of beautiful blooms were shown and distributed amongst the girls. In the evening Miss Inglis 'gipve a talk on “drama.” In this lesSoli the girls were shown the right amd the wrong way of taking part in a play, and were given many hints orl' this activity, which is at present so pppfular in country districts.

On Friday morning, Mrs P. Ybutlale demonstrated bandaging, and g;ive many simple, but effective hiijts, on first aid. This was followed by a J.alk by Mrs Murray with the "care .oC .the meal table,” correct setting, seiFfrr,?, and waiting at table being shown. gMi s Murray emphasised the need for clean - liness in linen and cutlery. After lunch Miss Liddle of Sb. Helen’s, Dunedin, gave a very practical talk and demonstration, on Karitanv nursing. During the afternoon the girls weteS) taken to the Public Hospital, wjhei-e, they were shown through the nurses’ home, and dental rooms. A hearty vote of thanks wfisi accorded all the ladies who had helped] to make the week so successful. | i SOCIAL EVENING A very enjoyable farewell social was held by the Country Girls in the Y.W.C.A. Clubrooms on Friday last. The evening was taken up in dancing, games, competitions, etc. i During the eveninug items were given by Misses Abraham, H. Symon, R. Jacobs, M. Cleland, N. Maxwell and , Mr Struthers. ,

Supper was provided by members of the Timaru Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union.

Mrs Holdgate, president of the Y.W.C.A., cut the birthday cake celebrating the first anniversary of the Country Girls’ Educational Week in Timaru.

During the evening the girls took the opportunity of presenting Mrs B. E. Evans and Miss Duncan, provincial president and secretary respectively, of the Women’s Division with a gift in appreciation of their work. Bouquets were also presented to Mesdames Holdgate and Harvey and Misses Lovell-Smith and Ewing.
