MOTOR-CYCLING

SOUTH CANTERBURY CLUB A party of about 30 members of the South Canterbury Motor-cycle Club and their friends spent a pleasant outing on Sunday, on the first club run of the season to Collier’s Bush. The good road and weather conditions contributed to the enjoyment of the trip.

During the afternoon several events were decided, keen competition being forthcoming from members.

Results:— Freak hill-climb—C. Blackett 1, J. R. Rodgers 2. Road hill-climb —A. Lister 1, C. Sims 2.

Acceleration race—A. Lister 1, C. Sims 2.

Potato race—J. R. Rodgers 1, G Duncan 2.

The Club has been invited to stage a gymkhana at Waimate on October 10 as a curtain-raiser to the finish of the Chrlstchurch-Walmate cycle road race, and has arranged an interesting programme of events which should appeal to all members.
