NEW ASSISTANT ENGINEER By Telegraph —Press Association WELLINGTON. September 28. Mr H. C. Lusty, A.M.1.C.E.. has been appointed assistant chief engineer of the New Zealand Railways. He is at present inspecting engineer at the

head office. Mr A. H. Murison. A.M.1.C.E., of the Chief Engineer’s office, becomes inspecting engineer. The Hon. D. G. Sullivan states that, prior to 1931 there has been an asssitant chief engineer and an inspecting engineer attached to the Chief Engineer s staff, but in that year, as an economy measure, the position of the assistant was not filled. Now, however, owing to the increase in work in the chief engineer’s branch an appointment was necessary.
