JOE LOUIS WINS

ETTORE KNOCKED OUT IN FIFTH ROUND United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received September 23, 5.5 p.m.) PHILADELPHIA, September 22. Firty-thousand spectators witnessed the fight in which Joe Louis (14st 711 b) knocked out Al Ettore (13st 731 b), in the fifth round of a scheduled fifteen rounds bout. Louis fought cautiously and did not open up until he was sure he had nothing to fear from Ettore. Then he quickly scored a knock out. The Negro won all the four rounds on point margins. In the fifth round he started with a hard two-flsted attack which Ettore could rot withstand. Two hard lefts in succession to the chin sent him under the ropes, and although he tried desperately to rise at the count of nine, he fell back on the canvas.
