King Edward, while rowing his own skiff in Aidiphos Harbour and returning the public’s cheers was capsized through the wash from the Nahlln’s launch, which was returning from the shore. The King received a ducking. The Nahlln arrived at the Island of Skiathbs and the King visited the monument to the Greek novelist and poet, Papadiamandi. His Majesty was accorded a warm welcome, the little market town being gaily beflagged. Later the Nahlin left for Skytos, where Rupert Brooke is buried, and the Dardanelles. The King toured the Gallipoli Peninsula to-day and placed wreaths on war graves and made visits to the battlefields in the afternoon. The King is travelling by rail from Istaribuil. He will spend a few days in Vienna and will arrive at London on September 14 or 15, after which he will go for a fortnight to Balmoral.
