COMPETITION NOT SO KEEN Special to "The Timaru Herald." DUNEDIN, September 3. Wright Stephenson and Company Limited report having held their fortnightly rabbitskin sale to-day, when they offered a catalogue comprising nine ton of skins to a full bench of buyers. The offering all round was a good deal smaller than previous offerings, and the quality of the skins was slightly poorer owing to the lateness of the season. Competition was not so keen, although prices realised were quite satisfactory. America was the largest buyer in the market for all grades of bucks and does. In comparison with last sale prices winter bucks showed a decline of 3d per lb, while does can be quoted at last sale rates. Inferior grades were slightly neglected. The following prices were realised: Prime bucks 145 d, prime does 98ld, Ist winter bucks 144 d, Ist winter does 95Jd, 2nd winter bucks 131 d, 2nd winter does 86d, spotted bucks 118 d, spotted does 77d, outgoing bucks 98d, outgoing does 62d. Ist spring bucks 63d, Ist spring does 45d, 2nd spring bucks 431 d. 2nd spring does 42 Id. summer bucks 32d, summer does 33 Id. racks 36d, runners 301 d, small 19Sd, summer broken 35d, outgoing broken 42d, winter broken 551 d, Ist milky 46 Id, 2nd milky 40d, Ist fawns 85d, 2nd fawns Slid.
