A SUCCESSFUL YEAR The thirtieth annual meeting of Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., was held at Wellington, on Tuesday. The annual balance date having been altered from March 31 to June 30 the profit and loss account for the 15 months’ period showed a credit balance of £40,219/16/2, to which had to be added the amount carried forward from last year £29,428/0/1, making a total of £69,647/16/3. From this had been deducted the interim dividend. paid on November 15 last, amounting to £12,250/16 9, and also the interim dividend of the same amount (£12,250/16/9) paid on May *), 1936, leaving a balance of £45,146 2 9 available for distribution. A dividend of IS per cent on the ordinary shares was declared (making per cent for the 15 months, equal to per cent per annum) and the fixed payment, at the rate of 5 per cent per annum, to the preference shareholders was adopted, leaving a balance of £37,144/4/2 to be carried forward. Messrs John Macdonald. H. A. Price and W. M. Shand, retiring directors, were re-elected. KAIAPOI WOOLLEN CO. DIVIDEND OF 5 PER CENT The directors of the Kaiapoi W’oollen Coy. report that improved trading conditions have been experienced during the year and are reflected in the results to be placed before shareholders. Properties and plant have been fully maintained in first class order and further important additions have been made during the year.
