FREIGHT CHARGES
NEW AGREEMENT FOR NEW ZEALAND United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Cop vright LONDON, August 28. I The Associated Press understands that while the new freight contract between New Zealand and the overseas shipping companies has not yet been signed, freight rates and other important details have been fully agreed on. Only minor matters, such as phraseology are outstanding. The terms are likely to be announced within ten days. It is generally considered that shipping companies, who are faced with heavier expenditure have met the position in a most reasonable spirit. The representatives of the primary producers have not got all they wanted, but are well satisfied with the agreement.
It is understood that there are no drastic changes, especially in freight rates, which are more or less a continuation of the agreement expiring on August 31.
