S. Cautley, to the peerage, resulted:— Colonel Stephenson Clarke (Conservative) 22.207 A. Millett (Labour) 5,708 The voting at the general election last year resulted:—Sir A. S. Cautley (Conservative), 29,440; S. Seuffert (Labour), 8097; Conservative majority, 21,343.
