GRAVE INTERNAL SITUATION CAMPAIGN OF BRUTAL MURDERS REACTION OF RISING IN MOROCCO United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 19, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 18 What is actually happening in Spain is still obscure, but reports from Paris state that the Cabinet met all night. Trouble has long been expected, especially in view of the numerous brutal murders in the past fortnight. The Fascists and Socialists are continually attacking each other in the streets. The Government has made wholesale arrests of Fascists, since Sotelo’s murder. Owing to reports of a Fascist coup being planned, the Right V/ing newspapers have been indefinitely suspended. It appears, however, that the trouble is confined to Melil where martial law has been declared. A former Minister of Communications, estates that Colonel Elitlla has revolted, with his troops at Metilla garrison. The general officer commanding, surrendered. General Morato, commander-in-chief of Spanish Morocco, is rushing up. It is believed he will speedily suppress the rising.
