“WILL BRIDGE ALL ANTAGONISMS”

HABSBURG’S OFFERS TO AUSTRIA ITALIAN ATTITUDE OUTLINED United Press Assoclatlon—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright (Received June 18, 9.40 p.m.) LONDON, June 18. A message from Vienna states that Italy does not object to the restoration of the Hapsburg dynasty to the throne of Austria. According to “The Reichspost’s” statement of June 16, Italy approves and even emphasises that the restoration question is purely an internal Austrian affair, because no international treaty prevents Austria choosing her own form of Government. As a monarchical country and a friend of Austria, Italy will understand all the decisions of the Austrian people, whether other countries are pleased or not. Archduke Otto, in a letter to Austria from his Belgian exile, promises co bridge over all Class antagonisms when he is restored to the throne. “As a true Hapsburg I will make sacrifices in my Austria,” he declared. CONFIDENT FORECAST POPULAR SUPPORT OF MONARCHY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received June 19, 1.26 a.m.) VIENNA, June 18. Archduke Eugene, addressing a mass meeting of ex-servicemen, stated that a plebiscite for the restoration of the Monarchy will be held in the autumn. There was no doubt that an overkhelming majority would favour the return of Emperor Otto.
