PEMBERTON—JONES The Milford Presbyterian Church was the scene of a pretty wedding last Thursday morning when Ethel Rona, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Jones, Milford, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Charles Frederick twin son of Mr and Mrs D. J. Pemberton, Orari.. Mr J. N. Reid, Orari, officiated; and Miss Linda Cain presided at the organ. The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride with chrysanthemums and autumn greenery. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a white lace frock. The bodice, with long tight fitting sleeves, had a cowl neckline finished with small velvet flowers. The skirt flared softly to form a small train. Her tulle veil was caught at the sides with tiny sprays of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums, white winter roses, asparagus and maidenhair fern. Her sister, Kathleen, attended as bridesmaid and wore a lemon georgette frock patterned In blue, green and fawn, cut on slim fitting lines, softly flaring. She wore a fawn picture hat to tone. Her bouquet was of autumn tinted chrysanthemums and maidenhalm fern. Mr Louis Pemberton was best man. FIFIELD—WATERS A wedding of considerable interest took place recently at St. Mary’s Church, Geraldine, when Ella Sylvia, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Waters, Geraldine, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Arthur Jonas, fourth son of Mr and the late Mrs John Fifleld, of Woodbury. The Rev. Canon J. F. Coursey performed the ceremony and Miss Hughes presided at the organ. The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride with pink roses and pink and white heather. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a becoming frock of fine cobweb lace over ivory satin beaute. The bodice had a cowl neckline relieved with a shirred georgette edging, which was held in place with a spray of orange blossom. The sleeves, fitting to the elbow, fell in a wide flare to form a bell at the wrist. A long train fell from a back panel of the diagonally cut skirt. The hand-embroidered veil was held in place with a halo of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of Arum lilies, winter roses and maidenhair fern. Misses Edith and and Joyce Waters, who attended their sister, wore frocks of cerulean blue Kanabo sheer georgette, with novelty shirred neckline which draped from the shoulders to form a Grecian sleeve. The skirts which fell very full to the ground, had a deep shirred hipline. Silver girdles defined the waistline and bandeaux of silver and blue flowers were worn in the hair. They carried bouquets of pink chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern, tied with blue satin ribbon. Little Bertha Anderson, niece of the bridegroom, the flower girl, was dressed In a princess frock of pink Kanabo sheer georgette. The scalloped bodice, which was trimmed with crystal buttons, had shirred puffed sleeves edged with tiny hemstitched frills. Her full skirt was finished at the hem line with a shirred frill. A bandeau of pink and blue flowers and a silver basket of pink chrysanthemums finished a dainty toilette. Mr David Fifleld was best man and Mr Ron Ford was groomsman. On leaving the church, the bride was presented with a horseshoe by her small cousin, Doreen Tiplady and little Billy Patrick, nephew of the bridegroom.

After the ceremony, a reception was held In the Parish Hall, where Mrs Waters, assisted by Miss Elsie Fifleld, received the guests. Mrs Waters mother of the bride, wore a smart navy tailored pin stripe costume. Her velour hat was of a matching shade, and she carried a posy of red chrysanthemums. Miss Fifleld, sister of the bridegroom, was attired in a smart gray tailored costume with accessories to tone. She carried a posy of irises and chrysanthemums.

For travelling the bride wore a smart navy frock under a matching tailored coat, trimmed with skunk fur, and a navy shovel hat. Mr and Mrs A. J. Fifleld’s future home will be in Geraldine.
