ADDINGTON NOTES.

Special to “The Timaru Herald.” CHRISTCHURCH, June 11. Trainers were busy at Addington this morning. The weather was fine, and the course in excellent order for the final trials for the Ashburton Trotting Club’s meeting. Prince Harvester was given sprinting tasks, his best being two furlongs in 34 l-ssec. Bessie Parrish had an advantage of half a length from Southern Chief when they set out on a journey over a mile and a quarter. Bessie Parrish made the pace until the straight was reached, where Southern Chief ran up to her, and they finished almost on terms. The first two furlongs were covered in 38sec, halfmile in Imin 13sec, mile in 2min 20 3-5 sec, and the full distance in 2min 51 sec. Both horses finished in grand style. Grand Mogul and Tempest went a mile and a half without the assistance of the hopples in 3min 42 2-ssec. Lord Axworthy exhibited a lot of pep while pacing a mile and a half in 3min 29sec. He did the first two furlongs in 34sec. half-mile in Imin lOsec mile in 2min 20 2-ssec. mile and a quarter in 2min 56 3-ssec. and he finished in good style to record 3min 29sec. Wise Guy and Cadiz travelled on terms over the last four furlongs of a mile and a half in 3min 26 l-ssec They took Imin llsec to reach the four furlongs disc, and were at the mile post in 2min 18sec. They passed the mile and a quarter station in 2min deal.

Full Hand had one second start from Harlequin, two seconds from Thornworthy and four seconds from Reymere over a mile and a half. Full Hand reached the first two furlongs in 35 1- and was at the half-mile in Imin llsec. With a round completed, the four horses were in close formation and in single file. The mile post was passed in 2min 21sec. In the run home Full Hand beat Rey mere by half a length, with Harlequin and Thornworthy close up. Full Hand completed his task in good style and recorded 3min 27 l-ssec. Reymere did 3min 23 2G. S. Smith drove Rocks Ahead a mile in 2min 17 2-ssec. She did the first half-mile in Imin 9 3-ssec.

Rongomai led Cloudy Range for a mile and threequarters, where Cloudy Range joined Rongomai, and they came home together. The first four furlongs took Imin 25sec, and the mile and a half 3min 49sec. They stepped the next four furlongs in Imin 6sec fo record 4min 55sec for two miles. Francis Lincoln’s mission was a mile and a half in 3min 18sec. He paced the first two furlongs in 34sec, half mile in Imin 7 3-ssec, mile in 2min 13 l-ssec, mile and a quarter in 2min 45 3-ssec, and the last two furlongs in 32 2-ssec. At the third attempt, Maltravers got on the journey, his mission being a mile and a half. Ace Pot acted as pilot, and did the first two furlongs in 34sec, half mile in Imin 9 3-ssec, mile in 2min 20 3-ssec, mile and a quarter in 2min 58sec. Half-way down the straight, Maltravers ran up to Ace Pot, and they passed the winning post, in 3min 30 3-ssec.
