NICOL HEAVILY PUNISHED By Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL, June 10. A light heavy-weight boxing contest this evening between Roy de Gans (12.2), an American negro, and Ray Nicol (12.6) was won by de Gans on points. There was a packed house. De Gans won practically every round. Over the second half of the contest he scored at will, and punished Nicol heavily. De Gans has been matched to fight Tiny Nicholls (Australian heavyweight) at Invercargill on July 1. Nicholls will meet Max Rosenbloom at Sydney Stadium on June 15 and will leave for New Zealand immediately afterwards.
