Mr and Mrs F. J. Gallacher, Cromwell, are staying at the Grand. Miss P. Clare, Dunedin, is a guest at the Dominion. Mr and Mrs Noble Adams, Blenheim, are staying at the Dominion. Mr and Mrs R. Arneil, South Africa, are staying at the Grosvenor.

Mrs Owen Blackler, Hazelburn, is on a visit to Christchurch.

Mrs W. D. Revell, "Cadogan,” Sefton Street, will leave to-day on a visit to the North Island.

Mrs Ottway, Invercargill, is the guest of Miss Leila Greig, Trafalgar Street.

Mrs Alan Nicholls, who was the guest of Mrs A. E. Kerr, “Belmont,” Cave, has returned to Christchurch.

Mrs W. J. Sullivan, Church Street West, has returned home after spending a holiday with her mother in Greymouth.

Mr and Mrs J. McSkimming (Benhar), Miss E. Macdonald (Waipiata), and Mr and Mrs A. V. Kerr (Lobum) are guests at the Balmoral.

Mrs Bannerman, who has been on a visit to the Bluff and Invercargill, is the guest of Mrs H. Hall, Te Weka Street. She will leave to-day on a visit to the North Island. Mrs Anderson and Miss Dorothy Anderson, who are on a visit to Dunedin, will arrive to-day on a short visit to Mrs F. F. A. Ulrich, Elizabeth Street, before returning to Christchurch.

Mrs W. F. Hamilton, “Ashwick,” Fairlie, who left recently on a trip to England, is at present enjoying sightseeing in London. She will leave shortly for the country to stay with her cousin, Lady Pearce. Dr. K. M. Curtis, head of the Mycology Department, Cawthron Institute, Nelson, has been elected a fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand. She has the distinction of being the first woman elected to a fellowship of the Society. Miss Nancy Jobson, principal of Hopewood House School, Darling Point, Sydney, who has been visiting New Zealand, has returned to AusMiss Jobson was the first principal of Queen Margaret College, Wellington, and received a rousing welcome when she visited the school during her stay in Wellington.
