The Empire Press Conference devoted the afternoon to a debate on censorship. Following an admirable address by Sir Kenneth Anderson, the Associated Newspapers legal expert, outlining* a Bill designed to place libel oa the same basis as slander, and limiting the scope of the “gold digger,” the conference passed a resolution urging Britain and the Dominions to legislate on the matter as nearly identical as possible.
