ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE By Telegraph—Press Association PALMERSTON N., June 10 Arising from an incident at the Shannon railway station on May 30 Rawiri Makarlka, a youthful Maori, was charged in the Magistrate's Court with robbing William De Ridder of £7/10/-, also with using personal violence. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. De Ridder said he had been talking to accused and another Maori. He had given them both money when they said they had none. Afterwards both accosted him and said they did not want the money. They talked for some time. Then accused struck him on the fact, knocking him out. When he came to an hour and a half later he found that his jaw was broken and he had been robbed.
