BRITAIN TAKES NO RISKS. MILLIONS OF GAS MASKS ORDERED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright LONDON, February 4. A “Sun-Herald message says: “The Government is expediting and extending the production of gas masks and hope that 30,000,000 to 40,000,000 will soon be manufactured, and stored in depots in every town and village, for quick distribution in the event of emergency. It is anticipated that by the end of the year the organisation will be completed throughout Britain, designed to deal with gas casualties. The Government meanwhile has acquired a country house and grounds for an anti-gas school, for training special corps of instructors, who will be drafted to all parts of the country to teach official bodies besides voluntary workers. Other plans include the preparation of a sudden expansion of hospital accommodation, and arranging first aid posts -in towns and villages. These precautions are connected with the Government’s great rearmament scheme.
