ADDINGTON MARKET BEEF AND STORE LAMBS EASIER. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, February 5. Values for fat cattle at Addington to-day were lower and store lambs also were cheaper. Lambs met a firm market and prices for store ewes were better. Fat sheep.—There was a yarding of 3800 and no change in values, though enquiry was not so keen. Export buyers took little interest. Best wethers made to 26/10, medium 21/- to 24/9. best ewes to 26/7, medium 15/6 to 20/6, ordinary 11/6 to 14/-. Fat lamb.—The entry was a good one and competition keen at late rates. Extra prime made to 34/4, prime 24/6 to 27/6, medium 21/- to 24'-. Store sheep.—Good young ewes and forward rape ewes sold well at an advance of up to I/-. Best two-tooth crossbreds made to 33 6. There was a large entry of lambs but the quality was not impressive and values were lower by up to 1/6 a head. Fat cattle.—There was a yarding of 485. Best beef was 10/- a head cheaper and old cows and inferior cattle up to 20/- lower. Extra prime heavy steers made to £l2/12/6. medium weights £5/15/- to £9/5/-, extra prime heifers to £B/12/6, medium £4 to £7, extra prime cows to £6. others to £4 '5/-. Pigs.—Fats sold well, specially norkers. Baconers made 46 - to £3/3/6 (average per lb. 45d to sd) and porkers 28/- to 44/- (average s?d to 64d). (Continued on Page 11.)
