Through a sudden thaw, the icefields in the Caspian Sea have broken adrift, carrying off 2000 ponies and 1400 fishermen, who were wise after their previous experience and got food and fuel to last forty days. Aeroplanes are scouting the sea and say the men are not in jeopardy.
