SCORCHING HOLIDAY IN SYDNEY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 27, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 27. Heat wave conditions prevailed for the Australia Day holiday to-day, which was one of the quietest holidays within memory. For the first time for 100 years the famous regatta on Sydney Harbour did not take place. The Stock Exchange was closed.
