PORT OF TIMARU The motor vessel King Edwin arrived at Timaru on Saturday morning from Port Chalmers to discharge 500 tons of bitumen in drums from Tampico. She should sail on Tuesday for Lyttelton. The King Edwin, which is one of the King Line vessels, was built in 1927. She is 4536 tons and is 400 ft in length. The Holmglen, which arrived from Dunedin, picked up general cargo for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato, and sailed for Lyttelton. The Karetu was another arrival on Saturday. NOTES The Holmdale is expected to arrive this evening from the south, to load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. The Karu is listed to arrive tomorrow from Oamaru. Wellington, Nelson and Nev Plymouth are her loading perts. The Wingatui, on the Picton, Wellington and Auckland run, is due to arrive to-morrow from Oamaru. The Gale is expected to take Wellington and Wanganui cargo from Timaru to-morrow. Waipa’ .’s Smart Passage The Waipa . a, which left Wellington on December 20 for Lc idon via Panama, arrived at London on January 19 after a smart trip of 29J days. Mamari In Ballast The Mamari sailed from London on January 18 in lallast for New Zealand. She is due on the coast on March 8 to commence Hemeward loading. Ail Well On Rangitane A wireless message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company from the Rangitane, en route from Wellington to Lon'.or., elites that all on board are well, and that the weather conditions have been favourable. The vessel left Wellington on January 16.
