MEMORIAL SERVICES

LATE KING GEORGE V.

IMPRESSIVE TRIBUTES

Services to the memory of the late King George V. were held in all the churches in Timaru yesterday, crowded congregations being eloquent testimony of the loyalty of the citizens to the Throne, and their deep respect and regard for the late beloved monarch. All the services were of an impressive nature, appropriate hymns and anthems being sung, and prayers offered. As befitting the occasion, the pulpits were draped in black and Imperial purple.
