WILD WEATHER
large area of united kingdom affected British Official Wireless (Received December 17, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, December 16. Blizzards swept Scotland and Wales yesterday and there were considerable falls of snow in the Midlands. Some snow fell in London, but the fall turned later to rain and sleet. Late last night there was a sharp frost and the icy surfaces of the roads were the cause of many accidents. Electrical services were to some extent delayed owing to ice formation on live rails.
