EMBARGO ON STOCK

STATEMENT BY LORD BLEDISLOE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 12, 5,5 p.m.) LONDON, December 11. Viscount Bledisloe, addressing the Royal Agricultural Society, revealed that he had received an unconditional promise from the two leaders of the late Government in New Zealand that the embargo on British stud stock would be lifted. “It has not yet been done,” said Lord Bledisloe, “and I have every reason to believe that the Labour Government is at least sympathetic, perhaps more sympathetic, to the claims of British agriculture than its predecessors. There is not the slightest danger of foot and mouth disease being transmittable from Britain to the Antipodes in live animals.”
