In connection with the historical pageant, “Early Days in England,” to be performed in the Timaru Park on Saturday next by the various groups of Women’s Institutes, an illustrated explanatory programme has been prepared, and is procurable from all booksellers. Bucholz, chairman of the Wellington Stock Exchange, on Friday stated that the commission of inquiry into company promotion and kindred matters had made recommendations affecting stock exchanges, and among others had suggested the establishment of an Investment Bureau. “I have given the matter close consideration,” said Dr Bucholz. “I do not say that I agree with the recommendations as they stand, but I do believe that an extraordinary amount of lasting good may come to this country by a care-fully-worked-out scheme. The loss to the nation must run into many millions. Would the bankers, fire insurance, life insurance, manufacturers, wholesale merchants, professional men and every other class of business men, allow their businesses to be run by such people? Never! It would mean chaos. Then why continue it? This recommendation should receive the most thoughtful consideration of the whole business eommuhity. It may lead to good results to an extent that no man can measure.” Nervita is recommended where a restorative tonic is required. For the aches and pains of neuritis it is unequalled.
