CUP WON BY GAY BRONEY By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, December 5. The Dargaville Racing Club’s annual meeting opened at the Avondale racecourse in glorious weather. The attendance was fair and the track in splendid order. The totalisator handled £10,232, against £3420 on the first day last year when the meeting was held at Dargaville, an increase of £6812. Steve Donoghue told the United Press to-day that he is sailing for Sydney from San Francisco on December 10, for a three weeks’ visit to Australia. He has no plans for racing while there, but when he returns to America he will consider several offers to ride mounts in the 100,000 dollar Snnta Anita Handicap on February 22.
