DEATH OF PRINCESS
MOURNING FOR SIX WEEKS United Press Association—By Electric Teleera oh - -Copyright LONDON, December 3. The King has ordered six weeks' Court mourning. Messages of sympathy are pouring in. All flags in the city are half-mast. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester have cancelled their plans to continue their honeymoon in Ulster. The Danish Court will observe ten days’ mourning for Princess Victoria. Funeral Arrangements The funeral will take place at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on December 7. The service will be confined to members of the Royal Family, and personal friends. Simultaneously a public memorial service will be held in the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace. [Her Royal Highness Princess Victoria Alexandra Olga Mary of Windsor and the United Kingdom was born on July 6, 1868, the fourth child of King Edward VII. and Queen Alexandra, and was two years younger than the King. She was a Dame of Justice of St. John of Jerusalem. The following message was sent by the Governor-General, to his Majesty the King, in connection With the death of Princess Victoria:— “I beg to express to your Majejsty, with my humble duty, the respectful sympathy of the Government and people of New Zealand on the death of Her Royal Highness, Princess Victoria, the news of which has been received with the deepest regret by your Majesty’s subjects in this Dominion.”
