YOUNG WOMAN KILLED BY LIGHTNING United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph —Copyright SYDNEY, December 4. Violent storms swept across the southern and eastern parts of New South Wales yesterday, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to crops and buildings. Torrential downpours were experienced at a number of places. Miss Nina Tongs (2D was driving a sulky near Wyalong when the vehicle was struck by lightning. Miss Tongs was killed instantly. A boy accompanying her escaped with severe burns.
