Violent storms swept across the southern and eastern parts of New South Wales yesterday, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to crops and buildings. Torrential downpours were experienced at a number of places. Miss Nina Tongs (2D was driving a sulky near Wyalong when the vehicle was struck by lightning. Miss Tongs was killed instantly. A boy accompanying her escaped with severe burns.
