BULLOCKS SELL TO £l7/5/By Teleeraph - Pres* Association DUNEDIN, September 18. A yarding of 311 fat cattle was for ward for to-day’s Burnside sale. Prim heavy cattle were keenly competed for but anything lacking quality was neg lected and prices for this class showet a decline of 10/- a head. Towards th close of the sale the drop was evei more pronounced. A pen of extn heavy* prime bullocks from South Otag! realised £l7/5/- a head, the highes price obtained at Burnside for somi time. . In the store cattle section, 106 heat were yarded. No quotable lines o. steers were forward. Vealers, whicl were In short supply, sold well anc grazier and boner cows realised lati rates. Only 30 dairy cows of medium quality were forward. The demant was slack, the best price being £5. Oi( and backward sorts were not required In the sheep section there was i small yarding of 1139. The entry included a few consignments of heavy wethers, but the bulk comprised heav; ew'- and a sprinkling of lighter sorts Competition was keen and prices showed a rise of 2/6 a head for heavy wethers and 3/- for heavy ewes. Toj price for wethers was 40 3. Over th< last frw races, however, the market declined to the level of the prvious sale Thirteen spring lam:s were offered The qualitv was only fair and price! were slightly easier.
