Tsaldaris) to force the Republican Ministers to resign or to depart from their attitude of neutrality on the forthcoming national plebiscite on the question of restoring the monarchy, the monarchist deputy-Premier (General Kondylis), has resigned. M. Tsaldaris is forming a new Ministry. Tsaldaris has reconstructed the Cabinet. He is dropping all Ministers who had pronounced themselves publicly in favour of either a .monarchy or republic, except General Kondylis, whose retention is regarded as a victory for the monarchists, although M. Tsaldaris declares that the new Ministry will remain neutral regarding the monarchy during the plebiscite period. Meanwhile the city is buzzing with rumours of an impending monarchist coup d’etat.
