Last week of Carter’s Winter Sale— Oddments and Remnants at throwaway prices this week. Morton and Co. advertise a property consisting of 111 acres for auction on account of the mortgagees to be sold on Friday, August 23, in their rooms at 2 p.m. The property is situate at Seadown and is suitable for dairying or mixed farming. H. Allchurch and Co. advertise particulars of a five-roomed residence situate No. 45 High Street, which they are selling at their rooms (The Rialto), on Friday next, at 2.30 p.m. on behalf of the trustees of the estate of the late John Kirby. Details will be seen in the auction columns.
H. Allchurch and Co. will hold a clearing sale of household furniture and effects at Pleasant Point, on Thursday next, on account of Mr F. W. Wilson. Included in the list is a Majestic all electric 8-valve radio set. The sale will be held in the Store premises, Main Road (near the hotel).
Commencing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday next at the Scottish Hall, Barnard Street, A. N. Oakey and Co. will sell on account of a client his choice household furniture including superior three-piece oak bedroom suite, electrolux, good carpets, and other useful furniture. On Thursday next at 2.30 p.m. on the site 22 Latter Street, the firm will also submit to auction splendid residential property consisting of i-acre section together with 6-roomed house thereon under Instructions from the mortgagee. The semi-final of the Scottish Society’s waltzing competition will be held in the Scottish Hall to-night.
Attention is drawn to the Railway advertisement appearing in this issue giving particulars of excursion fares and train arrangements for the Timaru Races on July 27.
The League of Nations’ local branch will hold its annual meeting on Monday night in Chalmers’ schoolroom, to which all are invited.
